Kaspersky Lab has announced that it will release its new product versions, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 on 1 August this year. Both will carry the Certified for Windows Vista logo.

PC Pro has already had the chance of evaluating a beta copy of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7 and given it a full 6 star rating and winner of the categories "Labs Winner" and "A List". They cite the following as reasons for the top marks, “A combination of the software’s heuristic scanning and uncompromising approach to database updates. While many packages check for new virus signatures on a daily basis, Kaspersky runs to an hourly schedule, improving your PCs chances of being immunized before an infection reaches it.”

Users who purchase version 6.0 Kaspersky products will receive a free upgrade to version 7.0 for the duration of their subscription from the 1st August. Even better is that they are offering 50% off their current Home Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky AntiVirus products until 31 July if you buy from their UK online store . Customers will need to enter in the code 'PCPRO50' when they checkout. So, buy now, then just upgrade on 1 August to get a brand spanking new security suite for the price of a round of beers.

The rest of us have not yet been given the chance to get our paws on a  copy of the hotly anticipated software so will just need to wait for the release next week before we evaluate it. More updates on new features here as we get it.
