Kaspersky Lab has announced that it will release its new product versions, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 on 1 August this year. Both will carry the Certified for Windows Vista logo.
PC Pro has already had the chance of evaluating a beta copy of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7 and given it a full 6 star rating and winner of the categories "Labs Winner" and "A List". They cite the following as reasons for the top marks, “A
combination of the software’s heuristic scanning and uncompromising
approach to database updates. While many packages check for new virus
signatures on a daily basis, Kaspersky runs to an hourly schedule,
improving your PCs chances of being immunized before an infection
reaches it.”

I’ve decided to give my PC a good old once
over to look for ways I can improve its start up speed, give it a general
performance boost and lastly speed up the shut down process. I’ve had this
laptop for almost a year now and have added and removed various programs over
that time.
The first thing I’m going to do is clean
out the registry. Now you’re probably asking what the reason is for using a
registry cleaner. As you add and remove programmes from your PC and perform day
to day functions, the registry, which is an area that stores information about
your computer’s configuration, becomes fragmented and cluttered. Cleaning it
out every six months or so should improve the performance. There are some that
feel you may delete something important in the process but that’s why I’ve
decided to start with a review of PC Tools Registry Mechanic 6 as it has a full
restore feature in case anything goes amiss.
